Itinerary overview :

After leaving Marrakech the travelers will visit Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, and the Kasbahs in between these two spots and the desert of Merzouga. Then, they will spend the night in the desert before we head back to Marrakech to end our Marrakech 5 days tour of the desert.

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Valley of the Roses – Dades Gorges

After an early breakfast, we’ll start our Marrakech 5 Day Desert Tour from the red city of Marrakech. We’ll pass through the amazing landscapes of Tizi n’Tichka and many Berber villages where people live a very simple lifestyle. We will have a stop at the UNESCO world heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, which is also a famous filming location for many famous Hollywood films; films such as The Mummy, Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia… After lunch, we will leave for Ouarzazate. We will visit the Taourirt kasbah and the Skoura oasis. Then, after a visit to Kalaat Mgouna, the city of roses, we will be on our way to the Dades valley by the road of the thousand kasbahs. Overnight stay in a beautiful hotel in Dades.

Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Merzouga desert

After breakfast in Dades, we will depart for the Toughra gorges, with the largest gorges in Morocco and a beautiful river with small fish, where we will walk along the river for some time. We then continue to Erfoud via Tinghir, where we enjoy a traditional lunch. Our next stop will be Merzouga. We will spend this night of the Marrakesh 5 Day Desert Tour, in a hotel.

Day 3: Merzouga and Erg Chebbi DESERT

We will have a drive through the desert to explore its many aspects after breakfast and shower at the hotel. We will drive our 4×4 car through the small villages like Khamlia. Khamlia is a village that has Gnawa, a culture that is centered around Gnawa music. After having lunch with a Berber family, we will drive through the road used by the Rally of Dakar and stop at a cave where we can find fossils. Then we will go back to the hotel in Merzouga for a rest. After having rested and having left the unnecessary luggage, we will ride to the dunes of Erg Chebbi where we will camp. At the camp, under the clear constellations of the Milky Way, we will have dinner while listening to the trance-inducing drum beats of the nomadic musicians.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Draa Valley – Agdez – Ouarzazate

We’ll get up early to see the sunrise over the dunes. The colors are fascinating. Then we will start our Marrakech 5 days tour. After visiting Rissani, the original city of the Moroccan royal family, we will drive to the Draa Valley. Passing Tazzarine and Nkoub, we drive along the Saghro mountain. After lunch, we will continue to the Draa Valley to explore the oases, villages and Kasbahs. We will drive to Ouarzazate and spend the night there.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Kasbah Taourirt – Alto Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast, we’ll explore the studios of Ouarzazate, which have made this region world famous, and the kasbah of Taourirt. We’ll return to Marrakech to finish our 5-day Marrakech tour.
