Itinerary overview :
The 4 days tour from Fes to Marrakech will leave Fes and head towards the desert after visiting several places like the cedar forest of Azrou and Midelt. In the desert of Merzouga, we will spend the night, and explore the oases and the Kasbahs. We will visit Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou after that. Then we will end our tour at Marrakech.
DAY 1: FEZ – IFRANE – ATLAS MOUNTAINS – MIDELT – ZIZ VALLEY – MERZOUGA ERG CHEBBI DUNES
After we meet up in the early morning, we will depart on our 4 days tour from Fes to Marrakech from Fez toward the south. On our way, we will pay a quick visit to Ifran (dubbed as the Switzerland of Morocco), and the cedar forest near the town Azrou; there we will meet the Barbary monkeys. After that, we will stop at the town of apples Midelt for lunch. Then, we will drive through the high road of Tizi n’Taghamt and the amazing landscapes of Ziz Valley. We will continue our trip passing by the town of fossils Erfoud before we arrive at Merzouga. We will spend the rest of the day in a fancy Riad at Merzouga.
DAY 2: ERG CHEBBI DUNES – KHAMLIA VILLAGE – TOUR AROUND MERZOUGA DESERT
After we eat breakfast early in the morning, we will go on a journey to explore the desert area. We will head off-road towards the oases of Merzouga where the nomads live. Then on our Fes to Marrakech desert tour, we will go to Khamlia to discover more about the spiritual music of Gnawa that this village is famous for. Afterward, we will go back to the hotel to relax before we leave it again. This time we will ride the camels to the dunes of Erg Chebbi where a camp is waiting for us. After witnessing the amazing sunset over the dunes, we will stop at the camp to spend the night there under the fascinating night sky while listening to the beats of the drums.
DAY 3: MERZOUGA – ERFOUD – TODGRA GORGES – DADES VALLEY – SKOURA – OUARZAZATE
We usually wake very early this day to see the sunrise before we leave the camp. At Merzouga, we will enjoy a relaxing shower and a delicious breakfast. Then, we will go to the Oasis of Tinghir, which is near Toudra gorges before we pay a quick visit to the town of fossils Erfoud. We will visit the amazing gorges of Toudra, where we will take walks across the river and the narrow walls of rock before we stop at a local restaurant for lunch. Then, we will take the road of a thousand Kasbah after driving by Kelaat Mgouna and the Valley of Roses. We will visit Skoura Oasis and finally stop at the “Hollywood of Morocco” Ouarzazate for an overnight stay at a hotel.
DAY 4: OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU – ATLAS MOUNTAINS – MARRAKECH
After visiting the Kasbah of Taourirt, we will explore the studios of Ouarzazate, and we will head to Ait Ben Haddou, which is a huge and ancient Kasbah that is considered a UNESCO world heritage site and also a famous filming site that can be seen in many famous movies such as Gladiator, the Kingdom of Heaven, Jesus of Nazareth and so on. In the afternoon, we will drive through the amazing high mountain landscapes of Tizi n’Tichka Road and the many Berber villages that live a very simplistic lifestyle before we arrive at Marrakech. At the Red city, we will drop you off at your accommodation, and we will end our 4 days tour from Fes to Marrakech.
