Itinerary overview :

After leaving Marrakech the travelers on our Western Sahara Desert Tour to visit Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, and the Kasbahs in between these two spots and the desert of Erg Chigaga. Then, we will spend the night in the desert before we head back to the Western Sahara Desert. Then we continue to visit different landscapes before we get to Dakhla city.

DAY 1: MARRAKECH AIRPORT ARRIVAL MOROCCO

On the first day of our 11 Day Morocco Western Sahara Tour from Marrakech to Dakhla, we will either visit the famous Jamaa Elfna Square or just go to your accommodation so you can rest and relax.

DAY 2: EXPLORING MARRAKECH GUIDED TOUR

We will explore the red city during this day of the MOROCCO WESTERN SAHARA TOUR MARRAKECH TO DAKHLA. We will have a guided tour that will take us to the most important sights of the city; places that have a great historical and cultural value. The list includes the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the Ben Youssef School of the Koran as well as the Medina and the Souks. After lunch at a traditional restaurant in the famous Jamaa Lafna square, we’ll visit the Koutoubia mosque and the fascinating Majorelle gardens. These gardens house an amazing collection of plants from all over the world. At the end of the day, we will have an overnight stay in a traditional riad.

DAY 3: MARRAKECH – ATLAS MOUNTAINS – AIT BEN HADDOU – ZAGORA

After an early breakfast, we’ll start our tour from Marrakech. We’ll pass through the amazing landscapes of the Atlas Mountains and many Berber villages where people live a very simple lifestyle. Our first stop will be at the UNESCO world heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, which is also a famous filming location for many Hollywood movies. After lunch, we will drive to the city of Ouarzazate and visit the Kasbah of Taourirt. Then, after a visit to the Agdez oasis, we will pass by the Daraa valley, which has the largest palm plantation in Morocco. Along the way, we will make several stops for unforgettable photos before arriving to Zagora, where we will eat and spend the night.

DAY 4: ZAGORA – M’HAMID – ERG CHEGAGA DUNES

This 11 day Morocco Western Sahara trip starts in the morning in Dakhla, in a 4×4 vehicle, towards the dunes of Erg Chegaga, after a short stop at the panoramic view of Draa Palmeraie, and a stop in Tamegroute to visit the famous Koranic library (closed on public holidays) and an underground Kasbah, We’ll make a stop at Tamegroute to visit the famous Koranic library (closed on national and religious holidays) and an underground Kasbah. We’ll continue to M’Hamid, a small village – the last town and the main oasis of Draa before the great desert of Erg Chegaga Sahara. After lunch, we will drive off-road to the Mlaalg oasis. We will then head to the desert camp of the Erg Chegaga dunes. After arrival and a short rest with mint tea, we will ride our camels to the top of the dunes for a sunset view which is one of the most amazing views in the desert. The night will be spent under the starry sky in a nomad tent or a private tent. The choice is yours.

DAYS 5-6: GUELMIME – KSAR TAFNIDILT.

After an early breakfast, you’ll set off for the last major town in Morocco and a former trading center for the camel trains of the Sahara. From here, we set off on a rough track along the beach. The track runs through the dunes. Explore tiny settlements and abandoned military posts in the remote region around the Draa estuary. We arrive at Ksar Tafnidilt. We spend the night in a local traditional hotel with dinner and breakfast.

DAY 7: TARFAYA

Today our 11-day Morocco Western Sahara tour from Marrakech to Dakhla will continue after breakfast. Passing small caves inhabited by fishermen and the impressive Naila Lagoon, an inland sea separated from the ocean by dunes, our route takes us between the desert and the Atlantic Ocean. We reach the small town of Tarfaya in the afternoon. We’ll spend the night in a traditional local hotel in the small town of Tarfaya.

DAYS 8-9: LAAYOUNE – WESTERN SAHARA

After breakfast, we will leave Tarfaya. We will drive to Laayoune, the capital of Western Sahara. From here, we will embark on an expedition into this largely unknown area, meeting our local Saharawi guide. Stopping at wells to meet the Reguibat nomads and their herds of camels who eke out a living in this harsh environment, we venture into an untamed landscape of dunes and desert. We camp for two nights and arrive in Dakhla on the 9th day. At the end of the day we check into the hotel we have booked.

DAY 10: DAKHLA SIGHTSSEING

Today our Morocco Western Sahara Tour leaves Marrakech for Dakhla. After breakfast, we’ll spend the day exploring Dakhla and its surroundings. Dakhla has beautiful beaches and excellent fishing in the Atlantic Ocean. Overnight in a nice hotel with panorama views.
